Religion term paper

Part 1- An exposition in your own words of your personal faith or philosophy. This is to be in terms of your own thinking and not in terms of any religious dogma or doctrines.
Part 2- An analysis of how the religion or philosophy in which you were raised in and/or now practice expresses and fails to express this personal faith or philosophy.
Part 3- A comparison with at least two of the other religions we have studied to how these express or fail to express your personal faith or philosophy (NOT your current religion!)

NOTE: In this paper student are expected to develop and defend their own views as well as researching and report other views.

FIRST in part 1- Present your own faith or philosophy in terms that are personal. This must reflect your thinking and not just quote the official dogma, doctrine, or structural religious precepts. If such statements are part of your belief, then I want you to tell me what they mean to you.

SECOND in part 2-, You will de research to determine what other writers and the literature on the subject in general have to say about your religion or philosophy. You may use the text as primary, but also consult the library, internet, and current publications for more material. Document your use of this material in your paper. You must have works cited or bibliography page AND in text citations that refer to it.

THIRD, part 3, of your paper is to continue your research to compare two other religions to what you have written in Part 1. The research and documentation are as above. The comparison is with your own personal beliefs, not with your current religion. Work to show how other religions precepts express as well as fail to express your personal beliefs. It is not your task to just blow off other religions because they are not the ones you practice. NOTE The normal prohibition against use of the first person (I, me) does NOT apply in this paper.
