Order Description
Based on this week’s Learning Resources, consider the impact of an institution on its surrounding community. Consider both the contributions and the contentious issues for the community and the institution. Also consider the economic impact of the institution on its local and regional community.
To prepare:
Use the popular, academic, and business press to research town and gown issues at an institution of your choosing. Also examine documents from the institution’s public information office. Consider whether there are opportunities for collaboration and social change that result from this relationship.
Assignment:
post responses to the following:
Describe the top three issues that arise from the town and gown topic that are relevant to the institution you selected and the given community of which it is a part.
Briefly describe the ROI (return on investment) that the institution contributes to its community.
