This course named Media Audiences, users and market. SO Remember to frame the research from the audience point of view(that very important).
This is a Report: Choose a media product of your preference (E.G. TV sitcom, News, Telenovela, Specific Film, Radio, Anime, ) and conduct a review on the scholarly research around the topic, the methods used, and identify the aspects you would like to analyse in more depth.
Choose one topic to write: In the report, I would like to research Media Effects, such as :
Idea 1: The TV program or shows such as ‘gossip girls‘ and ‘Keeping up With The Kardashians’ were directly influence people thoughts, the orientation of values, mode of thinking, the habit of behaving,social communication and so on. Incorrect social and love values such as money worship presented in the shows will bring bad effects to teenagers.
Idea 2: The violent video games influences teenagers, such as World of Warcraft (or other games). Is it real that violent game causes aggression? Do violent video games lead to criminal behavior?Are the media products such as violent video games making people aggression and increase crime rate potentially in terms of teenager?Is that true that Violent Computer Games has the stimulated effects to aggressive inclination of adolescents in terms of males.
(In report you could state why people have interested in the violent games)
IMPORTANT: Remember to frame the research from the audience point of view.
Requirements and structures: (very important)
The purpose with this report is to conduct a literature review on the topic chosen (both for this report and for the final essay).
It must give an overview on the prevailing theories around your topic, the key writers and the appropriate and useful methods and methodologies of research said topic.
This review should be presented in the format of an annotated bibliography, and containing at least 10 sources.
This report should have an introductory paragraph explaining the topics being covered and a final paragraph summarizing the findings and proposing a research questions to be developed in the final essay( my next essay).
What is an annotated bibliography?
In the paragraph you should:
• describe the content and focus of the book or article
• suggest the source's usefulness to your research
• evaluate its method, conclusions, or reliability
• record your reactions to the source.
Please use the APA 6th edition format
I will upload PPT as well , it has some theories that may be helpful, please look it. Also you can develop some other useful relevant theories.
