The keys to successful system development are systems analysis and design, which allow us to understand what the business requires from the information system. Developing information systems is not merely about writing programs. Information systems are developed to solve problems for organizations. Discuss the following questions regarding the role of systems analysis:

What purpose does systems analysis serve?
Is it really necessary?
Why or why not?

Lab Work
When you have collected sufficient information about business processes, it needs to be documented. One way to do so is to create an activity diagram, which is a workflow diagram describing the various user (or system) activities, the person who does each activity, and the sequential flow of these activities. In this lab activity, you will create an activity diagram using Visio. Complete the following assignment:
Take the brief course on flowcharts (Links to an external site.).
Complete question 8 in the Problems and Exercises section on page 62.
Use Visio to create the diagram.
If you cannot access Visio, you may use alternative software such as DIA, Word, or PowerPoint.
Your completed assignment should be at least 1 page.
