Aircraft Cabin Load

Introduction
As discussed in the reading, understanding how Aircraft Cabin Load (ACL) is calculated is an important aspect for both the customer and the carrier. Both need to understand what is being discussed and how the pricing is being calculated in order to arrive at a satisfactory agreement. Confusion on either end will lead to frustration and probably a delayed shipment.

Instructions
The insight for this module discussed three hypothetical shipments. For this assignment please respond to the following questions in reference to your insight:

Why are carriers concerned with both the space and the weight capacity of an aircraft?
Why might a larger volume shipment (Styrofoam Cups) cost more to ship than a more dense shipment even if they weigh the same?
How can shipping customers and providers both benefit from a better understanding of ACL, how it is calculated, and how it influences pricing?
Grading
This assignment is worth 45 points, 15 points for each response to the questions above. Your instructor may deduct points if you do not provide sufficient details to explain your answers.
