Scheduling

Introduction

From your reading and other classes you've learned about a few factors that influence the scheduling of a flight. We've only briefly touched on a few topics, but consider a carrier that has regularly scheduled passenger flights and also sells some of it's cargo space. If they commit to carrying a load from one end of the US to the other what things might they need to consider? What if they can't fit the entire load on one direct flight? What if it's a priority shipment but there is bad weather delaying their regular routes? How do they manage the flight time of a crew that would exceed their limits if they did one direct flight?

Instructions

For this assignment, identify at least three factors and explain how they might affect scheduling and why it would be important to do as much planning ahead as possible.

Grading

This assignment is worth 45 points, 15 points each for the factors you identify and explain. Points may be deducted if your instructor feels you did not go into sufficient detail on your explanation.
